Derek is a temporary limited licensed psychologist who graduated from Adrian College with his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and then from the Michigan School of Psychology with his master’s in clinical psychology. Derek’s clinical approach is very much influenced by his work in philosophy as he is always willing to question topics further and collaboratively work with clients to explore deeper.

Derek truly believes that there is no therapeutic relationship without trust and communication. His primary focus is to create a safe and welcoming space that sets the foundation for further exploration, healing, and growth.

He primarily works with adolescent, young adult, and adult populations struggling with issues such as:
