FAQs

What insurances do you take?

We pride ourselves in being inclusive — that means we accept many different insurances. Even if we are out-of-network for your particular insurance, many insurance policies do offer out-of-network benefits. Call our office today and our front office staff can assist with checking your benefits!

What if I have to miss an appointment?

We understand that life happens! With the exception of emergencies, please give at least a 24-hour notice if you must cancel or reschedule your appointment. If there is less than a 24-hour notice or you are a no-show, a fee may be incurred. Our office staff can assist you with any questions on scheduling and fees.

Why does Silver Linings Counseling require a payment method on file?

Silver Linings Counseling (SLC) has implemented this policy for the convenience of the client and the efficiency of the billing process. Each client (or financially responsible guardian) will complete a Payment Authorization Form to store a method of electronic payment (i.e., credit card, flex spending or health savings card, or debit card).  All copays, coinsurances, deductibles, late cancellation, missed appointment fees, or paperwork completion fees, will be charged to the stored payment method provided by the client.  All electronic payment information is stored in a HIPAA and PCI compliant system.

What will my copay be?

Copays depend on what type of insurance and what policy you have. For some, there is a straight copay. For others, you must meet your deductible before your insurance will begin coverage. The rates for therapy sessions are determined by your insurance company. Please call our office staff to find out your copay and if your deductible applies.

What should I expect for therapy?

Therapists all have different styles and techniques that they use you to help you achieve your goals. You will discuss your individual needs and goals with your therapist, so that they can customize a treatment plan that best suits you.

Do minors need a parent or guardian present for sessions?

All minors are required to have a parent or guardian present for at least part of their first session.

What if I do not have insurance?

We understand that not everyone has health insurance. That does not mean you are excluded from therapy! We offer private pay rates for those who do not have insurance. Please call our office staff to learn more about how private pay therapy works.

What will/won’t my insurance cover?

Our office staff does their best to check your benefits before you come in for your appointment. However, it is best to call your insurance company about the costs of certain services. Sometimes they require certain codes for different services, so please call our front office and they will be happy to assist you.

  1. Does my coverage include behavioral health benefits?

  2. Do I have to meet my deductible or just pay a copay?

  3. Do I have a visit limit?

  4. Do I need a referral or prior authorization?
